Lately I have been getting way too stressed about everything and putting far too much pressure on myself.
To learn Swedish
To learn French
To find a job
To make friends
To have a baby
To have a baby
To have a baby
To write
To exercise
To get off the couch
But when struggling with something as huge as infertility or a chronic illness, it’s ok to NOT do anything for a day. I’ll say it again. It’s okay to not do ANYTHING for a day. Or a week. Or two weeks.
If you’re like me, what are the things you keep stressing over doing and accomplishing? Stop it. DON’T put pressure on yourself.
Try doing what you feel for awhile. Listen closely to the signals of what you need. They may be quiet because they’ve been pushed down. Prioritize health, rest, REAL joy (whatever that means to you), moving your body, sleep, and eating good food.
Don’t feel like you have to reach out to people unless you want to. People can reach out to you for once, dammit.
Don’t overextend yourself at work. By not getting enough rest, you won’t be at your best, which isn’t good for anyone.
Try saying NO. Don’t let your schedule get filled with things you don’t have the capacity to do. You will get to them later.
Everyone has obligations and things they must do. But this is the time to cut yourself some slack. Your brain and body will thank you.
Take careful and kind care of yourself Jess. 🩵 You absolutely deserve the most generous forms of self love.
