Hi, I'm Jess! I’m a writer and American expat living in Gothenburg, Sweden. My husband, Alexis, and I have been struggling with primary infertility since 2022. I’ve had several miscarriages and failed IVF attempts. The official diagnosis is “bad luck” and a low egg reserve.

In 2023, I suffered a major neurological attack following my first round of IVF. They found a lesion in my spine and lots of bands in my spinal fluid. I’m feeling alot better now, but I’m being treated and monitored regularly for multiple sclerosis.

We began our donor egg IVF journey in July 2024. Our first transfer resulted in my fourth miscarriage and our second transfer did not implant.

Alexis and I enjoy cooking, live music, eating burritos, and paddle boarding at the lake (when it’s warm enough!).

Living with infertility and MS (either or both) can be isolating and take a toll on mental health. I hope this blog will feel relatable and raise awareness for people with these conditions.
